About the book

The Goat Hunt is the story of four young Maori who set out o catch goats alive, to sell them to a farmer for his flock.

It all sounds so easy. Daniel, who tells the story, is still at school. He thinks it'd be good to make a few fast bucks although he'd really rather be watching TV than chasing wild goats up and down hills. With Din, his slightly older brother-in-law, his two 13-year-old nephews and pig dogs Bess and Rip, he sets out for the back country of Gisborne. But all is not straightforward.

Summary

A humorous, 'quite hard-hitting' story of a group of Maori boys who set out to find goats and bring them back alive. Of particular appeal to boys.
